Here is a fun story about my recent clients, Sled Here is a fun story about my recent clients, Sled & Breakfast, and some back story on why Richie is the BEST person in St. Louis to be training your dogs —

During my first winter in Michigan (2017/18)… I decided I wasn’t cold enough ❄️ so I drove all the way up to Marquette, Michigan to be an event photographer for the UP200, a sled dog race.

This was my first true “Up North” experience — I remember driving over the Mackinac Bridge and thinking it was so crazy that the entire lake was frozen over. After getting into the UP, I was even more blown away by pick up trucks driving out onto the frozen lake to ice fish. This was all so new and exciting.

I buckled up for a COLD five days outside in more snow than I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was ready to chase down sled dog teams and take some great photos of mushers and their teams. I know they train hard year round to get ready for an event like this.

The cold was pretty extreme that weekend - my camera had it’s own “camera parka” and I had special heaters to keep all my rotating batteries warm, otherwise they’d only last 20 minutes out there. I went through so many hand warmers.

On this trip - I had the great privilege of seeing a very special husky team run - the Breakaway Siberians. I had actually met their owners, Richie and his wife Leah, when I lived in St. Louis through our dog club and was happy to see them again.

The Breakaway Siberians aren’t your traditional sled dog team - they are a team of all rescued huskies with the motto “Pets First, and Athletes Second”.

Everyone at the race LOVED their team, I remember those dogs being some of the friendliest, most approachable (also photogenic) and well behaved dogs at the race. It speaks VOLUMES to the training work that Richie has done with each of these rescue dogs that have previously had behavioral issues which is why they were up for adoption to begin with and ended up with him. These dogs are all very lucky to have been taken in by Richie and Leah. He has taken in a lot of challenging dogs and transformed them into athletes and happy pets.

It makes my heart happy to work with such incredib It makes my heart happy to work with such incredible clients every single day. This past week I launched a new website for Ginger.

Ginger, the founder of Serendipity Beyond Design, is a designer who creates beautiful keepsake invitations for weddings, showers, parties, and celebrations of all kinds. From her hand drawn illustrations, to her stationery and paper choices - Ginger has the perfect eye for high-end details.

For the new Serendipity Beyond Design website - our goals were to showcase Ginger’s invitation designs through lifestyle photography and videos. We also wanted to detail all of the steps and the process of working with Serendipity Beyond Design in an elegant way.

Overall, this was a fun project to create and Ginger was so fun to collaborate with to bring her visions to life through a new website.

It’s an exciting week around here — I love tha It’s an exciting week around here — I love that after weeks of working with my clients, we get to the part where their new website launches into the world!

I focused on creating layouts that allowed the photography and visuals to shine. Ginger made this easy by taking gorgeous photos of her products, and fun brand photos inside her studio. We utilized a lot of fun videos throughout the website, and large-scale images of her work.

We also had a few technical goals to consider in this project, as important pieces of the process are done through website forms. Ginger and I worked together to put together a new Printed Items Estimate form, which utilizes a ton of calculations and variables to help price multiple pieces of stationary in an order (I am always up for a fun challenge like this!). We also put together forms for intaking client information and wording for invitations, RSVP cards, and more.

Lastly, we showcased her work through multiple services pages for Wedding Invitations, Special Event Invitations, Custom Illustration, Map & Travel Poster pages, and more. We also included an “About” page with videos of the studio space, a Testimonials page, and a helpful Resources page that her clients can go to for commonly asked questions or to learn more about different types of stationery, embellishments, or envelopes for their invites.

Overall, this was a fun project to create and Ginger was so fun to collaborate with to bring her visions to life through a new website.

PS — if you’re planning a wedding, absolutely reach out to Ginger for your invitations! You will be blown away by her creativity and designs!
Do you feel overwhelmed with all of the possible “TO DO” list items for starting a website project?
.
This list can seem like it never ends, and sometimes we feel like for our website to attract our dream clients, it has to check all the boxes of having:
.
➡️ A standout logo and color scheme
➡️ Beautiful brand photography
➡️ The perfect copy
➡️ Fancy funnels and opt-ins
➡️ A blog that is constantly updated
➡️ A never ending list of website pages
➡️ And more, and more and more…
.
.
The truth is, you don’t need any of this to stand out and speak to your ideal clients...
.
You just need to answer the key questions your clients are looking for so that they know they’re the right fit to work with you…and the easiest way to do that is with a strategically designed website.
.
.
Here’s what clients actually want in order to feel comfortable working with you.
.
They want to know the answer to these four key questions:
.
🌺 Do you help people like me?
🌺 What transformation do you provide for me (or my business?)
🌺 Do you have a proven track record of success?
🌺 How can we work together?
.
.
You can use your website to speed up the know, like, and trust factor by answering these questions clearly for your ideal clients.
For your website to convince someone to work with you, your website needs to clearly show that you know them. That you help people JUST like them, you understand their pain points and how to solve their problem. You can provide the exact transformation they’ve been searching for.
.
.
Let me know how these tips helped you this week & if you’re ready to get started on a strategically designed website, schedule a free consultation call with me:

“Your website is a digital brochure for your bus “Your website is a digital brochure for your business” 😑😑😑

Hmm…does that feel a bit boring and simplistic to you? I’ve heard this piece of advice countless times, and as a strategic website designer, this never felt like the whole story. Instead, I believe…
.
.
Your website should feel like a coffee date —
Personal, warm, inviting, ☕️
and an experience where you get to know someone better, and at the same time you feel deeply seen and understood.
(not to mention, the added bonus that there is a cappuccino or hot tea involved)
.
.
Your website can give off that same connecting feeling that meeting someone in a cozy coffee shop on a rainy Wednesday morning would.
.
.
What would happen if your website so perfectly captured your clients desires that they feel like you’ve been reading over their shoulder during their latest journaling session because you know them SO well?
.
If all this did was establish that you truly know them well enough to help them solve their problem, you’d be waitlisted before you know it.
.
If your website is giving off more “brochure” and less “coffee date” vibes, let's chat on a free strategy call and talk the opportunities I see with a new website that strategically aligns with your business ❤️
